Dani Barker is a writer, actress and director from British Columbia, Canada. She is excited to be directing the powerful film Three Days set in the 1950's and starring Erin Boyes. Prior to this, Dani directed two short films in the festival circuit, The Poo Bag and Nothing's Original which is a Finalist at Worldfest Houston International Film Festival and premiering at Portland's Comedy Film Festival June 2021.
Dani spent four years in New York after selling an original episodic series to TBS where she played the lead and worked as a consulting producer. This series was originally acquired from VH1 with a pilot starring Dani and four Canadian friends based off her popular web series Starvival. Starvival earned a lot of attention and became popular on Youtube in 2014 after garnering millions of views landing Dani on the front page of Entertainment in the Toronto Star and featuring the show on BlogTO, Seriesandtv.com and Tubefilter, to name a few.
Simultaneously, Dani developed and sold a second series called Squirm to Canada’s LGBTQ+ network, OUTtv. She worked with the head of programming to create the show, write it, produce and star in the series.
Currently, Dani is wrapping up on her feature thriller film, Follow Her, directed by Emmy award winner Sylvia Caminer and shot by Academy award nominee Luke Geissbuhler. The film stars Dani and Luke Cook, set to release end of 2021.
