Dani Barker is a writer, actress and director, currently based in Vancouver, Canada. Her feature thriller Follow Her which she wrote, produced and starred in alongside Luke Cook will be released later this year; directed by Emmy award winner Sylvia Caminer and shot by Academy award nominee Luke Geissbuhler. Follow Her will be playing festivals around the world throughout 2022 alongside Dani's short dramatic film that she directed, Three Days, a period piece set in the 1950's starring Erin Boyes and Kristian Bruun.
Prior to this, Dani directed one of her most proud projects: The Poo Bag, followed by the sequel: Nothing's Original which was a finalist at Worldfest Houston International Film Festival and premiered at Portland's Comedy Film Festival.
Dani spent four years in New York after selling an original episodic series to TBS where she played the lead and worked as a consulting producer. This series was originally acquired from VH1 with a pilot starring Dani and four Canadian friends based off her popular web series Starvival. Starvival earned a lot of attention and became popular on Youtube in 2014 after garnering millions of views landing Dani on the front page of the Toronto Star in Entertainment and featuring the show on BlogTO, seriesandtv.com and Tubefilter, to name a few.
Simultaneously, Dani developed and sold a second series called Squirm to Canada's LGBTQ+ network, OUTtv. She worked with the head of programming to create the show, write it, produce and star in the series.
